Trout Fishing on Lake Tarawera

Lake Tarawera's trout are so prized, Fish and Game NZ uses them for selective breeding at the Ngongotaha Trout Hatchery. These trout grow so big, so fast, they are used to boost the stocks and improve the gene pool of lakes throughout Rotorua and other parts of New Zealand.

Please note that Lake Tarawera's is open for fishing from 1st October to 30th June.Also, a fishing license is required for all trout fishing throughout New Zealand, Cruise & Fish will arrange all license for you.
